General Hospital, Gbagada (GHGB), was established on Tuesday, 27th September, 1983 by the then Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, during the second republic. The Hospital is strategically located at the T-junction of 3 (Three) major expressways; Victoria Island through 3rd Mainland Bridge, Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, and Badagry/Apapa Oshodi Expressway. This makes the hospital easily accessible throughout the length and breadth of Lagos State. In all, the hospital has about thirty-five departments, which includes a veritable Burns and Trauma tertiary center supervised by Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH); a maternal and paediatric department, as well as, Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative Cardio Renal Centre, amongst others within the premises. At the helm of the hospital management is Dr. BABAFEMI.J.O, who is assisted in the running of the hospital operation’s, is a vibrant and proactive Health Management Committee supported by highly effective and efficient Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Support and Administration Staff. The hospital which covers an area of 11.3 hectares also has spacious parking spaces, and has 24 hours power supply. We have an array of shops catering for the basic needs of visitors, patients and staff to the hospital. For the convenience of visitors to the hospital, we have two functional and always clean public toilets strategically placed for both male and female visitors. This is in addition to toilets in the various departments of the hospital. The hospital also boasts of one of the best mortuary services (privately run) in the state.
